Contact

To contact the Olympia Books to Prisoners Collective email olybtp@gmail.com

Because we are run by a small group volunteers it can take us up to a month to respond to emails if they involve anything that needs to be brought up to the collective for consensus such as fundraising or partnership proposals.  We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Am I allowed to send used books directly to a prisoner at Walla Walla? Is that what you do? Could you clarify if you take direct requests from inmates and send them books or just send the books randomly to different prisons where prisoners can request them at that time? Do you need special permission to do that?
I have a lot of books.

    • Hi Don, Thanks for your interest in Books to Prisoners. As far as I know, no prison allows books to be sent directly to a prisoner from a private party. Prisoners can only receive books from commercial booksellers. Olympia BTP works in conjunction with Seattle Books to Prisoners and Left Bank Books in Seattle. Prisoners from all over the country send letters to them requesting books. They then forward batches of the letters to us. We maintain a ‘library’ of donated books and we fill the requests as closely as possible from our collection. We can send the books directly to the prisoners due to our association with Left Bank Books.

If you have books to donate you could give them to us to use in filling the requests. You can find a list of the most requested books on our web page . jasper
